Mike Bartlett, MSEE, President of Vital Art and Science Incorporated. Mike has over 30 years of experience in the electronics industry, including 5 years as Vice President of Texas Instrument during which time he was responsible for defining, developing and bringing to market hundreds of new electronic products.

 


Bill Krenik Vital Art and Science

 

Hardware and IP

William Krenik, Ph.D. and IEEE fellow, serves as the head of Hardware and IP for VAS. He has over 24 years of experience including the time serving as a Chief Technology Officer of Texas Instruments, during which he took charge of the development of electronic hardware, software and devices, with 38 granted patents.

 


Yi-Zhong Wang, Vital Art and Science Inc.

 

Chief Science Officer

Yi-Zhong Wang, Ph.D., is a research scientist at Retina Foundation of Southwest and has over 20 years of research experience and skills in visual psychophysics, visual optics, computational modeling, computer programming, and development of new visual function tests. He has extensive experience working with seniors and patients with macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and Amblyopia.

 


 

Chief Medical Officer

Yu-Guang He, M.D., serves as Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Director of the Vitreo-Retina Fellowship Program at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. He has over 25 years of medical experience and practices in Ophthalmology. In 2011, he was named the Josephine Long Biddle Chair in Age-Related Macular Degeneration Research.

 


 

Technology

Kang Zhang, Ph.D., is a Professor of Computer Science and Director of the Visual Computing Lab at The University of Texas at Dallas with expertise in visual algorithm generation and presentation. He is on the Editorial Boards of Journal of Visual Languages and Computing, International Journal of Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering, and International Journal of Advanced Intelligence.

 

 

 

Business Development and Strategy

Thomas Capetan, MBA, has over 20 years of executive experience as a Vice President in Alcon Inc. where he was responsible for the identification, evaluation, and acquisition of all new ophthalmic pharmaceutical and surgical business opportunities. With a diverse business and technical background, he serves VAS by providing his expertise on setting strategic direction, negotiating acquisitions, licenses, and strategic alliances.
